My dear friends,
There isn’t a trace of autumn in LA other than the sales in several department stores. It’s rather hot here. Beach are still crowded, people are still wearing their tank-tops, flip-flops & taking out their surfboard to catch a good wave.
I haven’t done much lately. Bumming around, dazing into the endless sky…looking over the horizon thinking of the other end of the Pacific Ocean. Yeah, as of right now, I lead a pretty boring life (^_^)
Somewhere around the infamous Rodeo drive, Sunset Blvd, and Beverly Hills, there seemed to be palm tree growing taller and taller by the minute. Odd, isn’t it? That I hadn’t noticed the abundance of palm trees in Los Angeles area. I remember there were lots of palm tress in Miami & Palm Beach. Remember in every “sappy” movie, there always seem to have a scene where “leaves” fall? I just realized that’s what’s been bothering me about Palm Trees.
Their leaves DON”T FALL!
it just hangs there, no longer green, as if wishing to grab onto something.
I too, will miss those cherry tomatoes.. how four seasons selflessly shared with us her exquisite rubies, and how we used ‘em as our toys..(say.. smashing ‘em?) What wonderful memories! Hey four seasons, What will you plant in your garden next?
May I suggest the “winter melon”? I always loved the soup that has the entire winter melon as a container, and “sugared winter melon tea” hmm…yummy… But we can’t use ‘em to throw around this time..It’d definetely hurt..haha (^_^)
It’s only the beginning of October, but the supermarkets have already stacked up lots & lots of candies for Halloween. After scaring off kids who comes knocking @ my door, I suppose I should start thinking of Thanksgiving, my favorite holiday in Autumn. Turkey, craneberry sauce, yam, apple pie, pumpkin pies…hmm…FOOD!
Though I really should start writing down my “thankful List.” after all, so many wonderful things have happened since the last time I wrestled the wish-bone from my brother.
I wonder if there are any bird that migrates to LA. Probably not. But we’ve got wild peacocks running all over the places lately. In my opinion, the peacocks really should’ve kept their mouth shut if they want to leave a good impression. They sounded Horrible. I never knew that under that beautiful coat of theirs would lie such a high-pitched, almost irritating voice. Ugh!
I never rowed in my life, thought I’d like to. speaking of the Charles river, I’m thinking ducks…hmm.. Peking duck, Anyone?…(^_^)
ps. cherry tomoatoes & mud bugs most likely will end up on my list this year (^_*)
