I feel that as an actor, it's important to be able to fit into different and varied roles. I've seen many of Simon Yam movies. He acted in a wide variety of conflicting roles such as Mafia chief, as gigola, as a gay, as a cool calculated hired killer. He's able to bring out the flavor of each character.
So it's an opportunity for Zhou Jie to be to take on a variety of roles. This will help him to establish and enlarge his scope.
Yang Kang, to me is a pitiful character. Pitiful because he is a man torn apart, between honor, glory and filial piety, between love for his adopted father or for a biological father whom he does not understand or know. Guo Jin is too straight forward, not a very realistic character. Whereas Yang Kang's personality is very complex and emotional conflict is high which leaves a lot of room for expression. Yang Kang's emotional conflict is real. In today's term, the 5C's is important. I have confidence that Zhou Jie will be able to bring out this element in Yang Kang's character. I have confidence that he is able to give life, depth and breathe to Yang Kang's character.

Sorry I've to write in English. No time to translate into Mandarin.
